RULES
The game "Tir. Shooting-range" is an logical
arcade with original rules and theme. Nice picture graphics, minimum rules,
simple control, 2 scenarios each with 40 original levels will please both
children and adult.
Game principle is hit all targets (in some levels you need destroy only
some of targets) on every offered levels with pointing sight at target
and press shot button. But unlike many such games main thing is not speed
of key pressing (though it is not prevented!) but accurate and exactly
(logical) calculation of all emergent situations.
The question is the sight you drive may move only right and up (rare exclusive
following situations). You can increase/decrease sight speed in horizontal
or vertical axis but you don't allowed stop the sight (or to direct it
to back side that is left and down)! It is main complexity of the game
that change it into original logical arcade from standard thoughtless
fighting game.
The shot is maked to the center of the sight. Take notice that the sight
changes its color when you set it exactly on the target.
The targets you need hit are three different sizes. But you hardly miss
big target but the middle and especially small ones may give you a lot
of trouble. The problems are risen if the targets are moving or jumping
fixed way that is on some levels of the game.
There are also vanishing targets, which you can hit only they are visible
(at least partially), on the screen. Sight is more difficulty to aim on
"evanescent" objects (but you may hit its at any moment). But
it is especially hard to direct the sight to translucent targets (that
is without white circle) because you may hit it only to the red part of
one.
Notice that every missing shot which you doesn't hit any
target takes away one bullet (practically it is a live by analogy with
another games). The amount of the bullets can increase but if you do missing
shot very often the game will be over before the appointed time.
But there are also good news for you. If you hit a target on the central
circle (bull's eye) you will receive an medal and extra score. Let's shut
correctly therefore! Some targets can contain prizes. Small pictures of
the prize are placed in left up corner of the screen and disappear after
it is out of time. A small color line under the prize is give warning
of residuary time of its effect.
But there are some opposite surprises peculiar to whole level. It is a
"night", when you can see only a small zone around the sight
and another part is sealed with seven seals. A "wind" which
is blown in following or counter directions increase or decrease speed
of the sight. A "magnet" effect draws the sight to the nearest
side of the screen. And a "mirror" changes control keys of the
game to another ones. Small pictures of level effects are showed in right-bottom
part of game screen (see level effects).
The game is contained also particular hindrance named magnet traps. They
are original objects, which draw the sight to self "embrace"
(although sometimes it can be useful!) and do an forced shot.
GAME CONTROL
You can use keyboard or mouse to control the game.
The most simple is to use mouse. Moving mouse in horizontal direction
is increased or decreased horizontal speed of the sight. Moving mouse
in vertical direction is done similar effect. The shot (or start of the
sight) is done by click on left mouse button.
Keyboard control is realized with arrows keys those are increased or decreased
speed of the sight in corresponding axis. Space (or Enter) key is done
shot to the center of the current sight position.
After each shot the sight is moved to start position. Pressing any of
these keys can do the start of it.
During the game you also can press Escape and show context menu. In this
menu it will be allow change control type and speed, turn of/off the sound
effects, tune background brightness and exit the game.
Note that control speed (which is changed in main or context
menu) is charged with speed of response enduring pressing control keys
(or moving mouse). High parameters (10..15) is mining that you need do
short move to do analogous increase/decrease speed of the sight in following
axis. Similarly with arrows key - when you use high control speed you
need to do more short pressing key to do analogous change of sight's speed
(Don't use the highest value (15) for keyboard speed! The control does
so fast that you will not do small increase/decrease the speed of the
sight)
BONUSES
-
Light. This bonus is contained in all night levels. Night is changed
into day and all level is become visible.
- Snowflake.
The time of doing of all prizes is not go down while snowflake is visible.
But main action of this prize is to stop moving and jumping all targets.
Those objects are stopping and waiting for your accurate shot.
- 3 new
bullets. Fine and useful thing
- Targets
change its size into biggest one. It is especially useful if you play
game in hard difficulty.
- Add 4 sight
up, down, left and right from standard sight. In that case the shot is
made at once to five pixel of the screen (miss shot is if you miss from
all five "barrels" and you have lost only one bullet!). Very
often it ease a solution of a level.
- 2500 scores.
Only scores but it is so pleasantly!
- medal.
It gives if you shot to bull's eye of a target. Every 7 earn medals give
you an extra bullet and 1000 scores.
+ 1 new bullet for each conversion to odd level.
"BAD" LEVEL EFFECTS
* - night. It has not any special picture but you
are not mistaken :-) You can see only a small zone around the sight going
together with it. All another part of the screen is covered with dark
of obscurity...

wind. The wind's direction is shown by suitable arrow and a small
color line shows strength of wind. The wind is increase the sight's speed
in corresponding direction but you of course can suppress its effect with
periodical opposite ones.
Head wind is a very beautiful thing because allow you to realize an opposite
move of the sight which you cannot do another way or to correct your own
mistakes.
- Mirror.
All control buttons are changed to opposite. It is not unusual but not
hard to understand and counteraction.
- Magnet.
It is one of most hard effect. The sight increases its speed to the direction
of the screen's side its is closer. In a practical you can consider it
as a wind changing its direction depending on sight position.
- Time.
You need hit all targets until your time is not gone out. Don' hurry because
you have enough time to do it but don't delay because you will lose 3
bullets if your time is over (and you are got a new portion of time).
HOW DO SCORES COUNT?
You will receive score for (on normal difficulty level):
- hit target - 250 scores + bonus 50 scores for middle size target
or bonus in 100 scores for small target size;
- medal (shot to bull's eye) - 100 scores. For every 7 medal you
receive additional 1000 scores.
- hit bonus - 100 scores (and also 2500 scores if this prize is
chest with gold);
- for go to next level - 1000 scores + 25 scores for every bullets
containing in your arsenal;
- win the game (that is win all level of current scenario) - 10000
scores + 250 scores for every bullets containing in your arsenal;
GAME DIFFICULTY
You can choose one of three-difficulty level: kindly,
normal or super. They are differing on scores and rules. During the
game the difficulty is shown by use a small picture in right-bottom corner.
- kindly. The targets on this difficulty level always have a big
size. You have got (in the begin of the game) 10 bullets. Time of prize
continuing is more then one on another difficulty levels.
You can completely stop the sight that is not allowed on another difficulty
levels (that is meant that the sight speed can be 0 on horizontal or vertical
axis).
Level effects (wind, magnet and so on) work less strongly.
But there is a bad news - you will receive almost two times fewer score
then you could do for analogous work on normal difficulty level.
This difficulty level is an ideal for children and for training.
- normal difficulty level. It is intended for most of players.
All targets have size that is saved in level specification. You has 7
bullets in the begin of the game.
All level effects have its normal value. You will receive scores as it
has marked in above described table.
- super. It is difficulty level for those who want more scores
or more troubles :-)
You have got only 4 bullets. All targets have a small size (therefore
value of target prize grow repeated times!).
All level effects have their strongest value size.
But all these nuisances are compensated 50% bonus of receiving scores
then analogous value on normal difficulty level.
MAIN MENU
New game. Run selected scenario from first level.
How many levels will be last the game is depend on you.
Scenario. Select next possible scenario. Now you can play two different
scenario "Main" and "New trial". They contain 40 levels
each but at the same time "New trial" is essentially more complexly.
You can also select another scenario files (if they are).
Game difficulty. You can select three difficulty levels: kindly,
normal and super.
Background brightness. This option allow you to set background
brightness (only for picture's background) from 0 (not visible - black
color) to 100% (normal colors). It is only used for set your own comfort
level imagery of background. This has not an effect on earning score.
This option is present at game menu (that is you can change background
brightness any time you play).
Control type. Allow select one of two control types: mouse and
keyboard. Option is also present at game menu.
Control speed. This option is answer for speed of response control
buttons (or mouse movement). Value of speed can change from 0 to 15. It
is allowed change in game menu.
Sound. Turn on/off sound effects.
Best results. It is used to show table of records of current selected
scenario file.

TABLE OF RECORDS
For every scenario file it is created own table of records.
It will be filled with best results to appreciate your progress in the
game.
Table of records contains following columns:
Player name, score, medals, hit targets, difficulty level, missing shots
count of passed levels (or cup if you have won the scenario).
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Operation system - Windows 95, 98, 2000, Me, NT,
XP;
DirectX 8.0 or higher;
RAM - 16 MB (recommend 32 MB of RAM);
10 MB on HDD;
Video display adapter with 4 MB of RAM (recommend 16). The
game run in 800x600x32 video mode that must work on your computer.
Sound adapter compatible with DirectX (although you can run the
game without sound).
Mouse, keyboard and you own :-)
GAME REGISTRATION
Without the registration the game will work as demo-version
and you cannot play more then 7 levels of each scenarios. If you
are interested of the game and play full scenario you need pay $5.
