SMART ( Self-Monitoring Analysis & Reporting Technology ) is an interface between a computer's BIOS (basic input/output system) and the computer hard disk, which provides information about various 'attributes' of a drive, such as 'Power on hours' and 'Temperature'. DiskCheckup uses this data to determine the overall health of your drive.
